There is one peice of information that I was not aware of when I installed DB2 in my system. When DB2 is installed the installer creates a new Windows account. It will ask you for a password for the account. After installation it will ask you for the password. It took me many months to realize that it was asking for the password for the Windows account. Other than that just follow the instructions provided by IBM.
