Hi friend, if user having read only permission then sharepoint itself hides ribbon from user. or if u want more customization then reffer my article regarding how to find user group by jquery and then u can hide ribben by fallowing lines of code. function HideRibbon() { $('#s4-ribbonrow').hide(); var newHeight = $(document).height(); if ($.browser.msie) { newHeight = newHeight - 3; } $('#s4-workspace').height(newHeight); } and in order to completely hide ribbon just call HideRibbon() function. Or... add the following style to page: document.getElementById("s4-ribbonrow").style.display = "none";

Add below CSS to Master page or on page where you want to hide ribbon .s4-ribbonrow { display: none; }
