How to get filebytes from dt.row["FileName"].ToString()

File.WriteAllBytes(Path.Combine( ConfigurationManager.AppSettings.Get("DocumentPath").ToString(), randString + FileExtension), array[]); i have a datatable which consist file name, from file name i want to know file bytes ,so that i pass a parameter into below function. File.WriteAllBytes(Path.Combine( ConfigurationManager.AppSettings.Get("DocumentPath").ToString(), randString + FileExtension), ?);

Hey Sandeep When you had saved in the db as a bytes (varbinary) format then, it doesn't required .ToString() to convert to string and then convert it to bytes[], you can directly convert it implicitly like below var data = dt.row[ "FileName" ]; if (data!= DBNull.Value) { var FileData = (bytes[])data; // do your stuff with FileData } Do let us know, if any thing else we can help you out

you can use Length property which gives file size in bytes. string fileName = dt.row[ "FileName" ].ToString() //FileInfo Class to get file details FileInfo fi = new FileInfo(fileName); long size = fi.Length;
