To install and configure network load balancing using Hyper-V Server as a virtual format follow these steps: 1. Install Hyper-V Server on a physical machine: You can download the Hyper-V Server from the Microsoft website and install it on a physical machine. 2. Create a virtual machine: Open Hyper-V Manager on the physical machine and create a new virtual machine. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the virtual machine with the desired settings such as memory CPU and storage. 3. Install Windows Server on the virtual machine: Install the Windows Server operating system on the virtual machine that you created in step 2. You can use an ISO file or a physical installation disc to install the operating system. 4. Enable network load balancing feature: Open Server Manager on the virtual machine and click on Add roles and features. Select the Network Load Balancing feature from the list and follow the on-screen instructions to install it. 5. Configure network load balancing: After installing the Network Load Balancing feature open Network Load Balancing Manager from the Tools menu in Server Manager. Click on Cluster in the menu bar and select New Cluster to create a new network load balancing cluster. 6. Configure the cluster properties: Enter the IP address of the virtual cluster subnet mask and default gateway. Select the network interface that will be used for the network load balancing cluster and configure the port rules for the cluster. 7. Add virtual machines to the cluster: Click on Hosts in the Network Load Balancing Manager and select Add Host. Enter the IP address of the virtual machine that you created in step 2 and click Connect. 8. Start the network load balancing cluster: Once you have added all the virtual machines to the cluster click on Cluster in the menu bar and select Start. Not all Windows Server versions support NLB. Check you install a version that includes the NLB role such as Windows Server 2019 Standard or Datacenter edition. Pay close attention to network adapter configuration during virtual machine creation (Step 2) of @Abhishek Yadav answer. You'll need at least two virtual network adapters: one for management traffic and another for client traffic. Check firewalls on the physical machine and virtual machines allow communication on the ports used by NLB (default port for NLB traffic is TCP 4950).
