How to count the data in sql server using data adapter?

hi everyone, How to count the inside the sql server using dataadapter...for ex...i hava a many blackdiamond name in my database....how to count how many blackdiamond inside my table....

If You want to Count total number of occurances inside Sql Server,try this one Select count(name) from tablename where tablename.name = "blackdiamond" Or If you want to count in client side using dataadapter, try this one, int count=0; while (dataReaderobject.Read()) { if(dataReaderObject["name"].ToString() == "blackdiamond") { ++count; } } Now you get result in count Variable.

There are many ways to achieve this. Easiest among them are using Datatable or a DataView. You can use DataTable.Select() or use a DataView.Find().
