sir why do you need Global.asax for this, use it like below for ex for 301 permanent redirect "Enforce canonical hostname" stopProcessing= "true" > "(.*)" /> "{HTTP_HOST}" negate= "true" pattern= "^www\.mysite\.com$" /> "Redirect" url= "http://www.mysite.com/{R:1}" redirectType= "Permanent" />

sir i want to learn it i want to rerwrite url using Global.asax but when i code like this protected void Application_Start( object sender, EventArgs e) { RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); } public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection RouteName) { RouteName.MapPageRoute( "Login" , "Login" , "~/Login.aspx" ); } and when i run the Login page it generate error as below.
