How to char* of C to C# Dllmport

There is a function of C which returns a char pointer. How to use this in C#

Yes Sir, There is a function of C which returns a string and the function is inside a DLL and I want to use that DLL with C#. Simple.... so do I have to use PInvoke or COM or etc.... Do DllImport and dllexport functions alone will not fulfill my necessity......? If they alone are OK then what would be the code...?

Hello Arijeet, I assume that you want to use the DLL which is written in C inside the C# code . In this case, you have to use COM Interop. Please advise if my understanding is incorrect. Many thanks.
