If the script file has the wrong extension, then you can rename it first with code such as this: using System.IO; //... string oldPath = "myfile.txt"; string newPath = Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(oldPath) + ".js"; File.Move(oldPath, newPath);

Note that it is difficult to get a script executed if the file extension is txt. If you try to execute it the way Vulpes suggests then I think it will execute the wscript utility which will just complain that it does not know what to do with it. In the code Vulpes shows, the extension is js but if the extension is txt then you will have the problem I describe here.

You can run script files from C# using a line such as this: System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("myfile.js"); // for Jscript or myfile.vbs if it's VBScript If there are any parameters to be passed to the script they can be passed as a second argument to Start(): System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("myfile.js", args);
