How to avoid showing unwanted inbuilt properties at run time in vb.net

Question

Hi
I have taken form for property in my project.

And i dont want to display the extra properties wich r inbuilt.

I want to show only selected properties.

Such as in dynamic properties accessible name,accesible role etc. i dont want to show.

how can i achieve this?

Ruta: Import the reference for System.ComponentModel and try it again. I checked it in 2003 and it works.

Ruta: Which version of visual studio are you using? I have done this in VS 2005 and I have tested this example in 2005 and it worked fine. I can check it in 2003 if you are using that IDE.

Hi, Thank u so much for your reply. I tried it, but it doesn't work as desired. I have included the same overriden property in my control class, still it displays that property in PropertyGrid at run time. Also there are some properties which are not declared overridable, how to exclude such properties from browasing? Please reply if u have got the solution. Thanks again.

It is not much fun but you can override each property and set the Browsable attribute to false which will make it disappear from the property grid at design time (for example): False )> _ Public Overrides Property BackColor() As System.Drawing.Color Get Return MyBase .BackColor End Get Set ( ByVal value As System.Drawing.Color) MyBase .BackColor = value End Set End Property
