How Do I: Save , read and change data within the assembly.

Hello,

I wish to write a program on C#(Windows Form) which kept in inself data which the user enters, so then they could read and change this data. I do not want save this data in database or file. Thanks in advanced.

Hi, One need is a need itself. You tried with resource fil? They will be embeded to the assembly once build. More over this resource file can read during run time. Numbers and Strings you can already keep as key/value pair. For DataSet, use typed dataset and add that file to resource. Add file option is available. I never tried with these. But you can go through these ways.

Hi Jaish, Thanks for the answer, but I want to have only one file - my application file(executable file). With serialization I will have more than one file. I am trying to do something like CrypDitor(please see above)

Hello Hirenda, I do not want to save data within configuration or other files. I want to save data within my application(executable file). This file can be move from one to other computer, so I think isolated storage is not good idea. I found one application - Cryptditor(see above) which is doing what I want, but I do not know how.About type of data - numbers, strings, and dataset. Thanks

What do you mean " kept in inself data "? If you mean that the data mut be saved in the executable file, then that is a very bad idea if the data also needs to be changed by the user.

Hi, You can use serialization ie. any information in a clas can be saved as a file. Later yo can take back that file as a class and can modify.
