How do i consume web API from console application ?

Question

I am getting a response from the postman. But when I run my console application i cant catch the response data. Please someone guide how to do this? This is GPS data, providing API from one of our client, and i just want to consume the data and save the response from the API. Should i really need to write GET request? but they are providing only the POST method ? Is this possible to achieve this?

You can create class as example public class Rootobject { public string status { get ; set ; } public DataObject[] data { get ; set ; } public string token { get ; set ; } } public class DataObject { public int unitCode { get ; set ; } public string timedate { get ; set ; } public float latitude { get ; set ; } public float longitude { get ; set ; } public bool ignition { get ; set ; } public float velocity { get ; set ; } public bool positionError { get ; set ; } public int seatCount { get ; set ; } } You need to deserialize json string if you intent to use it in your application. Following lines of code can be use for deserializing your json string .JsonConvert Class is available in Newtonsoft.Json package that you can download from nuget or through command Install-Package Newtonsoft.Json Rootobject bsObj = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject (data);

You can get data from response content like if (response.IsSuccessStatusCode) { var data = await response.Content.ReadAsStringAsync(); } This data is in form of string now you can deserialize that depending upon you require type.

Thanks once again, I have made the same changes in the entity. but now, fields = new List () { "unitCode", "timedate", "latitude", "longitude", "ignition", "velocity", "positionerror", "digitherm5", "direction", "distance" } I should replace this code. Because it were List of string and now its array. how do i pass the values for fields now?
