GPRS coding to calculate distance and time

Question

I wish to make a system which will be used for medical purposes. this system will be reading the GPRS co-ordinates of the patient who logs in (by phone or computer) and calculate the distance from the nearest hospital (hospital co-ordinates will be pre-provided) and advice him/her the time they can use while walking/riding/driving. the problem is that i don't know where to start. please advice and if possible give out some links to appropriate tutorials or codes.

Hi Simon , You should split your requirement into smaller steps. You should write an application , 1) which will calculate the current location 2) Based on thethat you will set thedifferent Hospitals , using the coordinates . 3)you can set up the distance by using calculation etc . A mobile application is a best fit here . Hi Simon. You can use Google map. Whenever a patient logs in by phone or computer then at that time you can access his/her latitude and longitude by using which you can find out that person's present location. To find nearest hospital you need to use some api and meanwhile you need to pass that latitude and longitude and which will show you the nearest hospital and also you can place some marker in the nearest hospital. This project you can do by using mobile but i have no idea about mobile app. Still you can do this project by asp.net,mvc,c#,jquery and google map also. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks.
