suppose your appsettings.json file is like below { "Logging" : { "LogLevel" : { "Default" : "Information" , "Warning" : "Warning" , "Error" : "Error" } }, "AllowedHosts" : "*" , "key" : "yourkey" } Now, to read the key create one method public class ConfigurationController : Controller { private readonly IConfiguration _config; public ConfigurationController(IConfiguration config) { _config = config; } // GET: api/Configuration [HttpGet] public string Get() { var result = _config.GetValue ( "key" ); return result }; } } now, you can call this method to get the key from jquery (ajax).
