Folder Protection

Question

i have hosted my application of ASP.NET in IIS and i have one folder in application and it have many video and other files and that folder is in drive, i dont want anyone to access those files directly from drive where it is stored, i want to access those folder only through my application asp.net.

Hello !! I think you can create roles for your application by using ASP .NET Configuration tool and by using this tool you can create access rules and can manage access rules.You can apply limited access to your folder by creating rules on the folder. To run ASP .NET Configuration tool 1. debug your application. 2. Don't stop debugging click Website from Menu then choose ASP .NET Configuration. In your browser ASP .NET Configuration tool will open.Use Security tab to create access rules. I think it may help you. Thank you :)

Thanks for your reply, Actually i'm developing a web based Content Management system in VS-2012. Here the contents(video files and flash files) Needs to be accessed only through the application. I placed all the files in a folder and could be accessible through my application. Currently there is no security provided for that folder. I want that folder to be either password protected or protected hidden, so that even the administrator user of my client machine wont be able to copy the files.
