"field used as type" build error DataSet for SQL Server connection

Question

i have a "field used as type" build error and it says

Error1'WindowsFormsApplication1.update_html1.test_db_DataSet' is a 'field' but is used like a 'type'

but as far as i can see form the .designer.cs file and .cs files it is actualy a type ... any ideas????

if anyone needs any details to shed light on this i would only be to happy to give you them.

I have got it to work by lifting the code from the click events and putting it into a new solution ... it seams that VS just got its knickers in a twist :s I am very pleased that the solution didnt take too long to recreate

Well, it looks to me like the designer creates a field within the form itself called test_db_DataSet and assigns to this a new object of type update_html1.test_db_DataSet. There's nothing wrong with that and the code for the ebay_test_db_DataSet is analogous. I imagine that update_html1 must be another class within the WindowsFormsApplication1 namespace which has probably been generated by the designer. So was the code you uploaded part of update_html1 and, if so, can you see a field in that class also named test_db_DataSet?

Well, you're right that test_db_DataSet is a type but it's not actually used in the extract you posted from the InitializeComponent method. There's an ebay_test_db_DataSet though that's not the same thing. Also, you wouldn't expect there to be any errors in the designer generated code. It's far more likely to be in code you've written yourself. So, are you sure the error is in there (no line was emboldened) or is it somewhere else?

Can you post: 1. The line of code which is causing this error and any earlier lines in the same method which you think may be relevant. 2. The field or type definition for WindowsFormsApplication1.update_html1.test_db_DataSet.
