Ext Ajax request async issue

Question

In Ext js, there is a Ext.Ajax.Request to get communicate with server and to get value, but in my application as it is async true, by the time it gets response from server, other code in the js is executing. I tried with async: false, it is impacting other functionality.

Please let me know if there is any other ext class to communicate and get value from server/ any way to handle this scenario.

Frankly speaking you have no other way to handle this except to put your conditional statement in Success function itself. async:false was the only option which doesn't fit for you then you are left with no choice than to call your Conditional statement in success funtion. Please move below code to a separate function and then call this method inside success function , after testcountry variable initialisation. if (testcountry == 'us') { //code for country us } else { //code for global }

Hi Kiran, I cannot provide the exact code but my code is like below Ext.Ajax.request({ url: '/api/xyz', xml: xmldata, success: function (response) { // dependent codes you wish to execute after this ajax call testcountry = response.responsetext; }, failure: function (response) { } }); if (testcountry == 'us') { //code for country us } else { //code for global } Problem is after url, execution is coming to conditonal code not the success function and after that it is coming to success function execution.

Hi Kiran, Yes, I agree to your point, but my issue is by the time ajax call executes success function, other dependent js code on the logic is getting executed. I cannot use async=false, as it is effecting other functionality. Please help me if there is any other way.

You can keep your dependent code (which you wish to execute after ajax call ) on success method. In this way , you dont need to mark ajax as async = false but your dependent code will run after the fast ajax call . Here is the code.
