Hi, I think this error is happen when your lbleno.Text does not contains any values and you parse it. Use below code. if (! string .IsNullOrEmpty(lbleno.Text)) { int eno= int .Parse(lbleno.Text); } else { // write here error message which you want. }

By looking at the code (Label lbleno=(Label)row. FindControl("lblempno"); ) posted here, everything seem ok. But I'm not sure how your GridView being designed or where it being called. I would check to make sure the "lblempno" match the aspx markup, it case sensitive.
