edit opearation of cascading dropdown list

in a table i have many control... one of them dropdown list.. when i am click update button all data are show with control but data of dropdown list is not showing.. while all data are show in edit mode for update a table... so my question how to show data of dropdown list if its cascading dropdown work with sql table
