Drop down lMenu(Javascript) hiding my Drop down list

Question

Hello Friends,

I've a dropdown menu(Javascript) above a dropdownlist(ASP.NET web control). But when i raise my mouse over the Javascript menu then the menu is hidden behind the dropdown list ........ Can anybody suggest me to solve this problem so that my JavaScript menu cann't be hidden behind the drop down list....................

I know that Z-Index can solve my problem but the problem is still a problem since i don't know how to set Z-Index for the server control like "Drop down List" if u know how to plz let me know too

An after thought......Right click on your rendered HTML page and view source. This is a good way to find the exact name that the server control gets rendered as. Because if you use Master Pages it changes the name of the control. If your control was called myDropDown it will probably render as MasterPageName$$_myDropDown.....or something like that. ie it's prefixed by it's parent control.

I'm just wondering why you are mixing controls. If you are using a standard HTML dropdown because you want to access it client side you can still achieve this with ASP.Net controls. The Asp control may be a server control but it is still rendered to HTML and can therefore be edited via Javascript. Question: Do two .net control interfere with one another. I'm just not sure if changing the z-index will work. But you can give it a go with this: document.getElementById('controlName').style.style.zIndex=10;
