ASP.NET is a subset of .NET Framework to build Server side Web applications. In ASP.NET page there are two parts - front-end and backend code. The front-end (client side) ASP.NET file has HTML CSS and JavaScript (and C# inline code) and the back-end server side code is written in C# that runs on a web server (IIS for example).

I am not aware of ASP.Net being a part of .Net. ASP.Net uses .Net just like ADO.Net uses .Net. Unless someone can provide documentation from Microsoft saying that ASP.Net is a part of .Net I suggest being skeptical of that.
