"Deploy" in visual studio does not create SAFECONTROL in web.config

Hi All,

I am using visual studio 2010 to create a custom web part for Sharepoint 2010. I have created a blank sharepoint project and added a web part template.

Now when i write my code and right click on the project and say "Deploy" the DLL and WSP is deployed properly but it does not create SAFECONTROL entry in the web.config. I guess it should ideally create that entry. Am i missing out something ?
