Convert webcam image into binary

when i capture image using webcam and try to store into binary format in sql server its not working i have tried below code. whats wrong ...? kindly suggest me right way.... my image control name is vimage bold line is generating error "Empty path name is not legal." my code is below i have declare string _imagepath2 = vimage.imageurl; public static byte [] ImageToBinary( string _imgpath2) { FileStream fS = new FileStream(_imgpath2, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read); byte [] b = new byte [fS.Length]; fS.Read(b, 0, ( int )fS.Length); fS.Close(); return b; } Error Is Empty path name is not legal.

i always go for the easiest one , if you already have a path then just read it as byte[] thats it. byte [] b = File.ReadAllBytes(fullpathofFile);

is this code is valid to convert into image to binary. No , due to security reasons the file selected or you assigned gets removed in the postback. you need to anyhow maintain the value during postbacks which is not possible untill you use sessions or something similar state management technique.

when you are actually taking pictures from webcam and assigning it to image control at that time store the path in a session variable and then use that session through out in the application. FileStream fS = new FileStream(Session[ "ImagePath" ].ToString(), FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read);

its showing null when cursor putting on it. what to do image control has image but its showing null.

have tested by putting debugger and ensure that the line string _imagepath2 = vimage.imageurl; _imagepath2 is not null?
