compare 2 database

Question

Hello All, I need to compare 2 databse tables which are on different servers. I need to compare tables from both database and find any differences (fields, data type, keys etc.) PLease help Thanks

Another cheap way is to use VS2017 Open VS 2017---> Tools ---> SQL Server ---> New Schema Comparsion a window opens select the source DB on the left and the destination DB on the right Good luck

creat a DB and 2 tables TBL1 will have extract from DB1 and TBL2 will have extract from DB2 the extract is from SELECT T.name as tablename , * FROM sys.columns C INNER JOIN sys.Tables T ON T.objectID = C.ObjectID you may need to add the schema as well now you have the 2 Metadata extraction into tbl1 and tbl2 use a INNER JOIN , JEFT JOIN and RIGHT JOIN between the 2 tables and find the diferences good luck

You can check if you have linked server setup between the servers, and then you can run the compare. There are tools like RedGate where you can connect both the servers and choose the database to compare the objects. Hope this helps
