var strFilePath = System.IO.Path.GetFileName(imgphoto); this one is ok in understand. but postedFiles = System.IO.Path.GetFileName(imgphoto).ToString(); you assign same postedFiles variable store data cannot create another variable. use HttpPostedFileBase postedFiles alerdy create variable.

Okay got the issue postedFiles = System.IO.Path.GetFileName(imgphoto).ToString(); In this line GetFileName return string where PostedFiles is a object of HttpPostedFileBase so in place of this you have tore it in another string variable var strFilePath = System.IO.Path.GetFileName(imgphoto); Also it returns a string so no need to convert ToString
