C# Convert month name to month number

Question

Hi everyone, i have combobox which i list of all 12 months. I display there name of each month. But for the code i must convert it to number. When i try to convert it i get error "String was not recognized as valid DateTime". Here is the code: //Month name , for example January string month = comboBox3.Text.Trim(); //Month number according to selected month in combobox3 int month1 = DateTime.ParseExact(month, "MMM",CultureInfo.CreateSpecificCulture("en-GB")).Month; Can you help me? Thank you.

Hello Stanojevic, there is a simple solution. All items with its values inside combo box item list have its own unique zero based index value. First item inside combo box item list have combo box item list index value ZERO. Second item, ONE. Third item, TWO. If value of the first item inside combo box item list is set to "January", and last to "December", all that is needed to get number of selected month, is to find out the value of index of combo box list selected item and then that value to increase by one. Alternative ways is bind combobox using dictionary so when you select combobox you can get it easily.
