Bold a string in c#

Hi, How can I bold this below string. I have tried bold & string tags as well and it didn't work. string strID = strGroupID + "-"; Please help me sort this.

OK, so you only want to highlight the [GroupId] part of the column. I suspect that the reason why it didn't work before is that you were adding the bold tags before the gridview was bound to the data-source. I think you'll need to add them after it's been bound. So I'd leave strID as : string strID = strGroupID + "-"; and pass it as a parameter to your routine. After you rebind (assuming as before that column 0 contains the ID), I'd try this code: string strID2 = " " + strGroupID" + " " + " - "; foreach (GridViewRow row in GridView1.Rows) { row.Cells[0].Text = row.Cells[0].Text.Replace(strID, strID2); }

I don't have to bold the entire column and I need to highlight only the primary column value. The below values will be inserted into a column and in this I need to highlight only [GroupID] value which comes from the string strID and this is how the result should be. [GroupID] - GroupID, Value1,Value2,Value3

In that case could you just embolden the entire ID column? For example, if the ID column has an index of 0: GridView1.Columns[0].ItemStyle.Font.Bold = true;

Assuming ID as a column I need to highlight the Primary Key column alone. ID [GroupID] - GroupID, Value1,Value2,Value3 My string has value [GroupID]-

I'd have thought that using bold tags would work when displaying text in a gridview. If you do it directly, does this work? GridView1.Rows[0].Cells[0].Text = strID;

Just an FYI. I am using the string as a parameter for insert, update operation just because I need to show this field in gridview.

It depends on how you display it. If you use a LiteralControl then this should work: string strID = " " + strGroupID + "- "; LiteralControl1.Text = strID;
