Binding a combobox to a list of strings

Question

Is there anyone who has a nice example of how to bind a combobox so that it contains items from a List of strings?

this is how my code looks:

List<string> _items = new List<string>();
public List<string> Item
{get { return _items; }
set { _items = value; }
}

and this is the combobox:

<ComboBox ItemsSource="{Binding Item}" Name="comboBox1" Width="120" />

Thanks for your replies. This works fine in a simple app, but when you have a 3tier app, it gets a little tricky. My app is using MVVM, and the Itemlist is in the MainViewModel which is the DataContext of my MainWindow. The ComboBox is in the window.resources file. I can't to set the combobox1.ItemSource from code, but only in xaml. Secondly the list will contain arround 100 string items. I just need a way to bind it properly so they can be looked up in a combobox. Any ideas or sample are welcome.

List string > _items = new List string >();// your code public List string > Item// your code { get { return _items; }// your code set { _items = value ; }// your code } public void fillCombo()// new code { Item.Add( "one" ); // new code Item.Add( "two" ); // new code Item.Add( "tree" ); // new code comboBox1.DataSource = Item; // new code } and just call that methot :"fillCombo();" Hope that is what you are looking for
