Auto Log Off using window C#.net application

Question

Hi friends, I want to auto lgo off if user didn't perform any action within 30 min. Is it possible? iam using .net framwork 2.0.

It is quite difficult to get right. The Application.Idle event helps but it does not do all of it. The attached project might show how to do it, but it will require more work if your application has more than one main form. Also, in this sample, if the form is activated then deactivated, then the timer will get reset. This is going to need more work to get it right but this will almost work. It will nearly certainly work in the situation where the user does not do anything in the computer.

hi Pravin, I am not sure but may these steps help you. Step1) Create window service. Step2) On login or any activity on you application create a notepad file or make a database entry with actvity time. Step3) Run window service which continuously check last activity time. If this time increase more than your time limit then this service restart your window application.So it move you to l login page Thanks hope it work for you.

Thanks Shrikant, I have tried your code - and I believe it works well only that I must be missing some pre-statements in my application as you have said "BEFORE THAT ...". Please take me through any other requisites there may be for this code to work. I'm a beginner.

Do you mean that you need to log off the user from Windows? If so then probably the easiest and most effective solution would be to use system policies, then Windows will take care of everything automatically. The system administrator would do it without any programming required.
