Aggregate Multiple Calendars In Separate Site Collection

What is the best way to go about aggregating 12 SharePoint 2010 calendars in separate site collections into one master calendar?

Hi, Yes sure. Lets have following steps Lets have one master list "Calendar Aggregator" having the following columns Source URL : All the calendar lists URLS which we need to merge Target URL : Target list URL in which we need to copy the items Attach the event receiver to the above list. In event receiver (Added, updated etc.) to the following things Copy all the existing items from Source list to Target List Associate the event receivers to Source list so that whenever new items will be added in Source list those will be copied into the Target list This is high level approach but will get an idea. Please let me know in case more details are required.

Could you about how to get started with this solution? I have a project that requires 24 calendars to be consolidated into one. How do I build the aggregator please provide a little more detail?

Hi, We have implemented same concept. Only thing is we have Calendar list in different sites and we merged all the events in one calendar list (Target calendar list) on one site. Idea is lets have one Configuration Aggregator list having Source URL and Target URL. Target URL is URL of master calendar in which we need to merge all the different different calendars. Those different URLs will be the Source URLs. Attach the event receiver to this configuration list to copy all the existing events from source calendar list from source url to calendar list in Target URL. Also attach the event receivers in list which is specified in source URL so that hence forward whenever new item is added/updated/deleted in Source list that will also be changed in respective item in list specified in Target URL. For us this approach is working very successfully. Please let me know in case of any confusion or more details are required.
