Add Dynamicaaly Date column to Gridview on each row

Question

Hi

I have below data returned by Sql . Is it possible to add Date column to each row at the end

DataTable BookPlanning = sQLUtility.GeBookPlanning(BookCollection, StudentCollection).Tables[0];
                    if (BookPlanning != null)
                    {
                        grd.DataSource = BookPlanning;
                        grd.DataBind();
                    }

Hello, You can use BoundField to add dynamic columns to the grid view. BoundField dateCol = new BoundField(); dateCol.DataField = "Date"; dateCol.Headertext = "Date"; grd.Columns.Add(dateCol); Please make sure DataField name should be same as datatable column name. Thanks Vishal

One disadvantage of adding a dynamic column to a GridView at runtime is that it can affect the performance of the page, especially if the GridView contains a large number of rows. Generating a value for the dynamic column for each row can also be time-consuming and may slow down the page load time. Additionally, if the GridView is sorted or filtered based on the dynamic column, it may not work as expected since the column is not present in the original data source.

To add a dynamically generated date column to each row of a GridView in an ASP.NET application, you can modify the DataTable before binding it to the GridView- DataTable BookPlanning = sQLUtility.GeBookPlanning(BookCollection, StudentCollection).Tables[0]; if (BookPlanning != null) { // Add a new date column to the DataTable BookPlanning.Columns.Add("Date", typeof(DateTime)); // Populate the date column for each row foreach (DataRow row in BookPlanning.Rows) { row["Date"] = DateTime.Now; // Or any other date value you want to use } // Bind the modified DataTable to the GridView grd.DataSource = BookPlanning; grd.DataBind(); } We first add a new column called "Date" of type DateTime to the DataTable using the `Columns.Add()` method. We then use a `foreach` loop to iterate through each row in the DataTable and set the value of the "Date" column to the current date and time using `DateTime.Now .
