You cannot create a separate team in Microsoft teams for a subsite. Team sites that are connected to a group will first need to connect to a Microsoft 365 group before they can be added to Microsoft teams.

Step 1
Navigate to https://teams.microsoft.com/ and click on “Join or Create a team”.

Click on Create team.
