What Is The Future Of .NET Core

Microsoft .NET Framework has come a long way and today we have .NET Framework and .NET Core.

.NET Core is the Microsoft’s open source version of .NET Framework. Microsoft just announced .NET Core 3.0 that will be available to public release later this year.

Today, .NET Core is one of the most active community driven open source project and companies such as Samsung are participating in the project.

.NET Core 2.1 was just released at Microsoft Build. Some of the key improvements in this release includes 

• Faster Build and Runtime Performance
• Close gaps in ASP.NET Core and EF Core
• Improve compatibility with .NET Framework
• Microservices and Azure
• .NET Core now supported on ARM32, Linux, Windows 10 IoT, and Containers
• Azure IoT Hub supports .NET Core
• Tizen 4.0 supports .NET Core
• SignalR as a Azure service 

.NET Core 3.0 is the next version of .NET Core that is expected to be released sometime next year. .NET Core Preview will be available later this year.

.NET Core 3.0 will include the following: 

• Supports WinForms and WPF
• XAML and UWP
• WinForms will support most popular XAML controls
• Access to all the Windows 10 APIs
• Supports IoT and AI
• .NET Core app bundler for WinForms and WPF
• .NET Machine Learning will allow you to build your own custom models
• ML.NET announced and will be available as a part of .NET Core 3.0
• Blazor will be available
