Configuring Microsoft Workflow Manager

The Workflow Manager Configuration wizard will help you to configure the system for the following scenario:

1. Setup a New Workflow Manger Farm with default settings or custom settings.
2. Join an existing Workflow Manger Farm.
   
   
   

A custom setting will provide you more options to configure the Workflow Manager in a production environment; click on the second option ("Configure Workflow Manager with Custom Settings").

Workflow Manager Configuration

1. Provide the Farm Configuration Database Server and Database Name:
   
   
    
2. Click on "Test Connection" to verify it.
3. Provide an instance of the Management Database Server and Database Name:
   
   
    
4. Click on "Test Connection" to verify it.
5. Provide the Resource Management Database Server and Database Name:
   
   
    
6. Click on "Test Connection" to verify it
7. Provide the Service Account for the Workflow Manger Service:
   
   
    
8. Provide the certificate details; if you have a domain certificate provided by a certification authority then use that instead of auto generation.
   
   
    
9. Provide the port numbers based on the firewall setting in the organization; also you could enable http communication to the Workflow Manager in an intranet scenario. If you are exposing it externally then only use https for the security.
   
   
    
10. Provide the Admin Group for Workflow Manager administration.
    
    
     
11. Click on "Next".

Service Bus Configuration

1. Provide a Farm Management Database name for the Service Bus, you cannot change the Database Server name that is provided in the Workflow Manger Configuration Step.
   
   
    
2. Provide the GateWay Database name for the Service Bus, you cannot change the Database Server name that is provided in the Workflow Manger Configuration Step.
   
   
    
3. Provide the Messaging Container Farm Management Database name for the Service Bus, you cannot change the Database Server name that is provided in the Workflow Manger Configuration Step.
   
   
    
4. Provide the service account to run the Service Bus Service.
   
   
    
5. Provide Certificate details, if you have a domain certificate provided by a certification authority then use that instead of auto generation.
   
   
    
6. Provide the ports for the service bus interaction.
   
   
    
7. Provide the Admin Group for Workflow Manager administration
   
   
    
8. Clicking on "Next" will take you to the Summary Screen
   
   
    
9. Click Copy to save the configuration information to a Word document for future reference.
10. Click on "Get PowerShell Commands" to get an entire Powershell command for configuration and save it as a Powershsell file (PS1 EXTENSION)
11. Click on "Apply" to complete the configuration.
    
    
     
12. Verify the log and ensure all steps are completed successfully.
    
    
     
13. Go to run and type "Services.msc" and verify the Windows Services
    
    
     
14. Go to the IIS Manger and ensure that the Workflow Manger Website is created
