Introduction

In this article, I explain how to reset our Windows 8 or 8.1 PC to original factory settings.

I had to redo my Windows 8.1 Surface Pro to remove some unwanted files and clutter.

Search (WIN+Q) for Windows Updates.

Select Check for updates and select the Recovery option in the left sidebar.

On the Recovery option, you will see three options as shown below.

You can pick the option you like.

If you want to go back to your original factory settings, select the second option "Remove everything and reinstall Windows".

You will have everything removed from your machine and will be back on the same screens as when you first started your new machine.
