Introduction

Not everyone wants a search on Windows 10 taskbar. Learn how to remove search form Windows 10 taskbar. I am using Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 10130, the latest Windows build available for Windows Insiders.

On the Windows desktop Taskbar, the Search Toolbar is available by default. See Figure 1.

Personally, I don't find myself using the Search Toolbar quite often.

To hide this from the Taskbar, scroll to the empty space on your Taskbar and right-click on it. The right-click loads the Taskbar options. Go to the Search menu item and click on it. You will see the three options Disabled, Search search icon and Show search box. See Figure 2.

To hide the Search control, select Disabled.

You can also have just the Search icon visible by selecting the Show search icon option.
