Enable Cortana on Windows 10

Introduction

 
Cortana is part of Windows 10. By default, Cortana may not be enabled on your PC. This article is a step by step tutorial of how to enable Cortana on a Windows 10 PC.
 
On the Windows desktop, Cortana is your personal assistant and available to help you find stuff on your computer or the web. She can also work for you in the background if you like.
 
Step 1
 
To enable Cortana, right-click on the Search toolbar on your Taskbar. See Figure 1.

You will see the Search results pane opened or other pane and you will also see a Settings icon at the top-left just below the Search icon. Click on the Settings icon, you will see a toggle, "Do you want Cortana to work for you?" See Figure 2.

By default, this toggle is off.
 
Turn on the toggle.
 
Now, you will see more options on the left sidebar. See Figure 3.

Figure 4 shows the list of things Cortana can do for you.
