Introduction:
In this article we are going to see the new enhancements updated with the Windows Azure Management Portal.
Overview:
The Windows Azure team announced the new updated version of the Windows Azure Management Portal to provide the users with rich user experience and efficient UI. Let us see the list of enhancements provided with the newer version.
Updates:
Update 1 - Localization
Windows Azure Management Portal is now supported with 11 New languages, so that the users can choose their desired language from the language chooser available at the top left corner. The new available languages are as follows - Japanese, German, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Update 2 - Right Click on Menus
This update is really useful for the regular desktop users like the portal now supports right-clicking to get context menus for the
Hosted Services, Storage Accounts and CDN
tab as shown in the screen below:
Update 3 - Performance Improvements
When the new portal is first loaded, it will prompt users to increase the local storage amount. Users can expect to see significantly lower initial load times with the addition of a local temporary cache and the optimization of network bandwidth consumption as shown in the screen below:
Clicking on Change Quota will popup a window as shown in the screen below. To minimize the security risks, no sensitive data will be stored on the local cache if users are browsing in Private mode.
Update 4: Enhanced Delete in Deployment
In the previous version if we need to delete the application deployed in the Azure portal we need to first stop the application and then delete the application. But in the latest version we can directly delete the deployed running application so the developers need not wait until the application has stopped to delete it. This update will be very useful for the developers to save time.
Hope the Windows Azure team will provide many more enhanced features like the above to make the developers task much easier.
