Cross Table In QlikView

Introduction

The cross table is also known as a 2-way table. This table consists of both columns and rows. It can be used to display the subtotals for columns.

The following is the procedure for using a cross table in QlikView.
  
Step 1: Open the QlikView application, then go to:

"File" -> "New"

Then the following window will be opened:




Step 2: Select a data source from my Excel file.

 Step 3: Then we need to browse to our Excel file and open the our Excel file, then this window will be opened.


 

Step 4: After browsing to our file, we need to verify the data.




Step 5: After verifying the data, double-click on the "Next" button; we need to save our QlikView file.




Step 6: After saving the QlikView file, we need to select the chart type. The chart shows the representation of the data.





 Step 7: The next step is to define the data dimensions and objects. The dimension shows the grouping of calculated data.


 

Step 8: The next step is to add an expression. This is an important step because the expression defines the calculated values in the chart.


 

Step 9: This is the final step, this window will show the final representation of the data.




After following this process, we create another QlikView file. The name of this file is CrossTable.qvw.

Now the final window of Normal Load and Cross table load is:



Step 10: Now open the Edit Script of Normal load and write this code:





Step 11: The next step is to click on the table files.





Now when we click on table files, we again open the Excel file.




 Then simply double-click on the Open button, this window will be opened. Then click on the "Finish" button.




Step 12: The next step is Reload the edit script.




Step 13: After reloading, this window will be opened.




Step 14: The next step is to simply click on the table viewer in the tool bar.




Step 15: After clicking on the tool bar this window will be opened.




Step 16: Now we open the edit script of the cross table window.




Step 17: The next step is to click on the table files.




Step 18: Now when click on the table files, we again open the Excel file.



 Then simply double-click on the Open button, this window will be opened.




Step 19: Simply click on the "Next" button.




Step 20: After clicking on the "Next" button, this window will be opened.




Step 21: Again, after clicking on the "Next" button:




Step 22: Again follow this process:




Step 23: Click on the cross table button.




Step 24: After clicking on the cross button, click on the "OK" button.




Step 25: The last step is to click on the "Finish" button.



 
Step 26: Now we write this code in the Cross table edit script and reload it.




 Step 27: This window will be opened. Click on the table viewer in the tool bar.



 
After that is the last and final window of the cross table in the QlikView application.
